Hamilton ride sold

A $150,000 sports car impounded by police after formula one driver Lewis Hamilton performed a burnout in St Kilda has sold for $7000 over its reserve price.A spokesman for Mercedes-Benz Australia said the C63 AMG, powered by a 6.2-litre engine, was sold yesterday to a Melbourne-based dealer. It is not known what the dealer plans to do with the car.The spokesman said the extra money from the car's sale would be donated to the Alannah and Madeline Foundation, which is the official charity of the Australian Grand Prix.
